Hardys - Domaine de la Baume Estate

Hardys purchased the Domaine de la Baume Estate in the Languedoc-Roussillon region near Montpellier and invested heavily in building up the 24-hectare estate. More than €4m of funding went on vinification facilities with a capacity of 27,000 hectolitres.

The estate produces two million bottles of varietal Pays d'Oc wine annually, under the La Baume brand, 80% of which is

exported, the majority bound for the UK market.

Australian brand with French style

We were appointed by Hardys to design the La Baume

brand identity soon after they purchased the estate. As an Australian company this was a significant move into French wine territory, so they asked us to reflect the French style in the brand. We created a corporate identity based on the distinctive ornate gates leading to the estate. This new

brand identity proved perfect for the brand position

Hardys wanted and provided the basis for a number

of designs for the subsequent labels.

Award winning design

Having successfully created the right brand image, we

were asked to follow this with all the design work for the

La Baume estate. Over a period of years this included

18 wine labels for a variety of Pays d'Oc quality wines.

We launched with the house ‘Domaine de la Baume’

and to our delight it was awarded a gold trophy by the

International Wine and Spirits Competition for best

wine bottle packaging of the year.
